A wonderful expression of old vine Barossa Shiraz, grapes from these ‘centurion’ vines are fermented in small open fermenters with regular hand plunging, before basket pressing, with the wine eventually spending another twenty-four months in their best French oak barrels to mature. This is a truly stunning effort. An opaque maroon colour, we have aromas weaving through a wonderful array – crushed herbs, sage, tobacco leaves, cocoa powder, aniseed, cloves, blackberries, mulberries and, of course, chocolate. A gorgeously creamy texture, this is seductive, generous and yet finely structured. There is good focus, endless energy, fine acidity and silky tannins. A wine of near incomparable length. This will offer delicious drinking over the next fifteen to twenty years. 2025-2045

Oh yes, we’re on to something here. Sourced from 100-year-old Barossa vines, it’s a wine that displays remarkable finesse and refinement, together with generous and opulent fruit intensity. Dark chocolate, blackberry, and satsuma plum characters abound. Made using simple traditional techniques to capture the essence of these old Barossa vines. The balance is impeccable now, and it means if you want, you can drink it, but oh, boy, cellaring will pay handsome dividends. 2025-2045

Combining power and sophistication, the wine shows dark fruit richness, smoked game, star anise, floral, and cedar characters with a hint of dark cocoa. It's superbly weighted and multi-layered in the mouth, exhibiting a plush texture and beautifully melded tannins. Immensely complex and flavoursome, finishing persistent and gratifying. At its best: 2027 to 2042.

The 2022 100 Year Old Vines Shiraz was sourced from an old vineyard in Vine Vale that was first planted in 1870. The fruit here is super concentrated and intense, with an attractive sway of sweet raspberry, sumac, star anise and licorice. What a beautiful wine. It's sweet, but it's earthy, and the élevage only serves to emphasize and support the fruit—as it should be—rather than obscure it. It matured for 18 months in Burgundian hogsheads, 15% new. This comes warmly recommended. It is elegant. 2025-2037

Plummy red, dark and opaque in the glass. Heady and lifted aromas of mulberry, plum conserve, bramble, dried herbs, Asian spice and nutty oak. Full-bodied, powerful and plush on the palate. Chock-full of dark fruits, sweet oak and and a decent lick of firm, grippy tannins. The acid is also bright and snappy and delivers cut and shape. Big-time Barossa. 2025-2040

Shiraz sourced from the Château's Lot 100 vineyard, first planted in 1870; matured in 100% French oak (15% new). A lovely display of rich, opulent fruit on the nose – blackberry, doris plum and black cherry fruits with underlying baking spices, cedar, licorice, pastis, dark chocolate, violets, roast meats, clove oil and earth. Impressive energy and fruit depth with a traditional Barossan form, gentle, oak-derived wood spice, black fruits, fine tannins and some nice sustain on the finish. 2025-2045
