This is a region that manages to produce wines of tremendous power but with polish and poise built on elegance and restraint. The aromas show a combination of spicy red and some blue fruits underpinned by a healthy blackberry contribution. There’s a typical regional ferruginous character and subtle earthy nuances contributing to its complex detailed presentation. A most stylish wine.

Dark, inky and opaque in the glass. Opulent aromas of mulberry, stewed plum, pudding spice, kirsch and sweet florals. Full-flavoured, super concentrated and decadently plush. Dark fruits, sweet spice and a lick of liqueur chocolate are all at play. Big time Barossa

The team used small open fermenters and a basket press to ensure that the treatment of this wine was as gentle as possible. As part of their Terroirs series, this one hails from the Ebenezer sub-region. It is the tenth release of this wine. It spent a year and a half maturing in a combination of French and American oak.
The colour is a dark maroon hue. Notes of Christmas cake, plums, mocha, coffee beans and chocolate are all evident here. The key is the plushness of the wine. There are fine though noticeable tannins on display, very good length and a seamless structure. A really attractive Shiraz which will provide pleasure any time over the next dozen years. It really shows the class of the Ebenezer sub-region.

Shiraz sourced from the northern grounds of Ebenezer, matured in oak for 18 months. Deep crimson with fruit tones of blood plum, blackberry and black cherry fruits. Hints of roasting meats, fruitcake spice, licorice, dark chocolate, turned earth and olive tapenade. Fruit pure with characteristic Ebenezer compression and compactness of fine tannin and a meaty edge to the black fruits on the medium-length finish.
