Chateau Tanunda Record Wine Auction Result for 100 Year Old Vines 6 Litre Imperial

We are pleased to share some news from the Langtons Barossa Fine Wine Auction 2023 on Thursday 22nd June at the Crown Ballroom at Barangaroo, Sydney:

Château Tanunda hit a milestone with our Lot 05: 100 Year Old Vines 2018 – 6 Litre Imperial + Private Wine and Food Masterclass at Sydney Cellar Door selling for a record $11,800

Bidding was ferocious, and the resulting winning bid took home the lot at $11,800 ($10,000 + 18% buyers premium), well above the catalogue estimated $2900-$3500.

A great result for Château Tanunda that saw our bidding outreach many seasoned auction favourites such as Lot 34: the 6-litre Imperial of the Torbrek The Laird Shiraz 2015 that fetched $9500 (+ buyers premium).

Château Tanunda was represented by John Geber, Jeremy Ottawa and Mitch Mckenzie who were on hand to congratulate the winning bidder, on this biannual ‘who’s who’ night of Barossa wine.
