We are delighted to share outstanding news from France, where both wines submitted to the prestigious Syrah du Monde 2026 competition have been awarded Gold Medals and ranked among the Top 10 wines of the competition.
The award-winning wines are:
- Grand Barossa Shiraz 2024
- 100 Year Old Vines Shiraz 2022
This remarkable result places our wines alongside the finest Syrahs from around the world and represents a significant international achievement for Château Tanunda.
This year, an international panel of experts tasted 159 wines from 20 countries, with only 29 Gold Medals awarded across the entire competition.
Making this achievement even more impressive, just three Australian wines received Gold Medals in 2026—and two of them were Château Tanunda wines. The only other Australian Gold Medal was awarded to Wakefield The Pioneer Shiraz 2022.
To have two wines recognised with Gold Medals and ranked in the competition’s Top 10 is a powerful endorsement of the quality, character, and consistency of our winemaking. It further reinforces Château Tanunda’s reputation for producing world-class Shiraz on the international stage.
