Chateau Tanunda Grand Barossa Dry Riesling 2022 ($25)
Strikes immediately with an intensity of lemon pitch and minerally bath salts on the nose. Then the palate delivers with a similar intensity with those citrus and slightly subtle apply-like flavours adding to a complex flavour. It’s precise and bone dry with a fine acidity focussing the finish.

Chateau Tanunda Grand Barossa Chardonnay 2022 ($25)
A generous and flavoursome chardonnay displaying lots of ripe stone fruit with a fine cutting citrus edge. Lemon and lemon with a white peach nectarine thing on the nose especially. Then the subtle oak kicks in on the palate. Fine long finish.

A perfectly beautiful modern style Aussie rosé, modelled of course on the French style. It’s dry but with surprising texture and appealing mouthfeel. Aromas of strawberry with a little red currant influence. It’s dry as chips and just so right for drinking on a warm afternoon. Love the style.

Chateau Tanunda Grand Barossa Grenache Shiraz Mourvèdre 2021 ($25)
A classic Barossa blend that absolutely nails the style in every way. Notes of blackberry and cherry with a little dried herb-like spices. The palate is soft and supple while displaying generous fruit character. It’s received a decent hit of oak using a mix of new and seasoned French and American oak. The creamy American oak adds nicely to the balance and flavour mix.

Chateau Tanunda Grand Barossa Shiraz 2021 ($25)
This generously proportioned Barossa shiraz offers plenty for the price. It’s from a very good season and has been picked ripe to maximise the flavours and opulence of the variety. Blackberry and savoury plum with a sprinkle of spices and black pepper create a beautiful opening. Then the palate delivers with purpose and drive to take the wine to a very long finish. Impressive wine of balance and poise.

Chateau Tanunda Grand Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 ($25)
This is a most impressive young cabernet from a very good Barossa vintage. In a good year like this the varietal characters of cabernet display themselves beautifully. In this case blackcurrant and fragrant scented violets and blackberry notes. The palate is typically firm through the core but there is excellent fleshy and generosity. A vibrant high energy cabernet ideal for medium term cellaring.
