Grand Barossa Chardonnay 2024
$25.00 / bottle
WINEMAKING
The grapes were picked early to retain freshness and acidity. A small portion of the Chardonnay was fermented in seasoned French oak adding depth, complexity and structure to the wine.
TASTING NOTES
Aromas of citrus fruits, melon and white peach lead to bright tropical fruit flavours on the palate with refreshing acidity. On the finish hints of vanilla and cashew nut are derived from partial new French oak barrel maturation.

Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
Attractively fruited and elegantly expressed, the wine shows ripe peach, citrus peel, nougat, and oatmeal nuances on the nose. The palate displays succulent fruit flavours with a smooth mouthfeel, beautifully framed by fine acidity, finishing long and harmonious. At its best: now to 2029.

Fermentation for this deeply flavoured Barossa Chardonnay is in mostly older French oak, with a contribution from new barrels to add to the structure and complexity of the wine. Quite a ripe style, there is some refinement here as well. Undoubtedly a Chardonnay designed for the crowds, not the critics, with the focus very much on flavour.
Deep straw in colour, on the nose we have notes of stonefruits, florals, peach kernels, melon and crushed almonds. Attractively textured, there are hints of oatmeal on the palate and the wine has decent length. For enjoying over the next three to four years.

Light straw with aromas of peach, citrus and green apple fruits along with hints of white flowers, stone, a touch of almond meal and crème fraîche, clover and nougat. Bright acidity drives the wine forward and the palate features ripe apple, citrus and soft spice with a dry finish. Drink by 2029
