Parishes Chardonnay 2022
$22.00 / bottle
The Parishes Chardonnay celebrates the great sub-regions, or ‘Parishes’, of the original settlers in some of Australia’s greatest wine regions.
This Chardonnay is from cool climate of the Limestone Coast of South Australia. Enticing aromas of citrus fruits, melon and white peach lead to bright tropical flavours on the palate with a refreshing acidity. On the finish there are hints of vanilla and cashew nut from partial new French oak barrel maturation.

Delightfully styled and elegantly complex, the bouquet shows white flesh stone fruit, rockmelon, lemon zest and nougat aromas, followed by a beautifully rounded palate displaying creamy texture backed by bright acidity, finishing smooth and refreshing. At its best: now to 2027.

The Limestone Coast continues to push its reputation as one of the better regions in this country for the world’s most popular grape, Chardonnay. This example is one which suggests that the wines from here can age well – putting it in the cellar for two or three years, then drinking it over the following four or five seems the way to go.
The colour is an attractive straw/green/gold. The wine is undoubtedly young. Still quite tight, there is plenty of oak here, which is gradually integrating into the wine. Some appealing tropical notes with cashews and the merest hint of woodsmoke to add to the complexity. There is coiled power here, a seductive texture and good acidity. Impressive length.
