Grand Barossa Shiraz 2021
$25.00 / bottle
Grand Barossa Shiraz epitomises the premium international reputation for Shiraz which has made the Barossa Valley famous. Lifted aromas of blackberry, plum and black pepper are accompanied by spicy, dark berry fruits on the palate.
All of the grapes are fermented in small batches to retain their sub-regional characters. After destemming, the wine ferments for 7 days on skins in small open fermenters and is hand plunged twice daily.
This encourages maximum extraction yet retains the dense, spicy fruit flavours that Shiraz is renowned for. The wine is gently basket pressed before spending up to 18 months in a combination of new and seasoned French and American oak barrels in our cellars.
SUITABLE FOR VEGANS AND VEGETARIANS
Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
This is gorgeously ripe and fragrant on the nose with black/blueberry, rich floral, vanilla and spicy oak characters, followed by a wonderfully weighted palate offering succulent fruit flavours with fleshy texture and silky tannins, making it highly enjoyable. At its best: now to 2033.

Grand Barossa’ is a lofty title perhaps, but the wine lives up to it. this Shiraz spends 18 months in a mix of new and older French and American oak. After destemming, the grapes see a period of time on skins in small open fermenters with twice daily hand plunging. Opaque magenta in colour. Dusty chocolate dominates, this is ripe and concentrated. We see flavours of plums and cassis emerge with the merest hint of pepper. The texture is supple and seductive. The flavours on the palate move more to coffee beans and cloves. Fine tannins, good balance, decent length, this is cracking value. Drink now and for the next 6 years.
Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion
The Grand Barossa range has always represented great value for those seeking a classic Barossan wine. Everything is here. The rich dark and black fruits, the earth and dark chocolate tones and highlights of purple flowers and raspberry coulis. Medium-weight and flavourful with fine-grained tannin and bright acid drive adding to the appeal.
Ray Jordan, Wine Pilot
This generously proportioned Barossa shiraz offers plenty for the price. It’s from a very good season and has been picked ripe to maximise the flavours and opulence of the variety. Blackberry and savoury plum with a sprinkle of spices and black pepper create a beautiful opening. Then the palate delivers with purpose and drive to take the wine to a very long finish. Impressive wine of balance and poise. Cellar up to 10 years.
