Grand Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

$25.00 / bottle

For our Grand Barossa wines we select grapes grown throughout the Barossa and its sub-regions. It is this tapestry of ‘terroirs’ which enables us to create our classic and refined house style.

TASTING NOTES
Lifted aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry and vanilla are accompanied by vibrant, dark berry fruits on the palate. The finish is long with fine-grained tannins from 18 months maturation in a combination of new and seasoned French oak barrels.

Although drinking well now, this wine may be cellared for up to ten years from vintage.

It’s beautifully expressed on the nose with blackcurrant, clove, thyme and toasted almond characters, followed by a splendidly weighted palate that’s succulent and sturdy. Classically structured and robust, yet smooth and supple, offering terrific drinking. At its best: now to 2034

The Château Tanunda 'Grand Barossa' range always presents excellent value with plenty of flavour and regional typicity packed into the bottle at a sharp price point. Flavourful and fruit pure with ripe blackberry and blackcurrant pastille notes along with spice, licorice, dried herbs, cedar, pipe tobacco and crème de cassis. Some nice depth and powdery tannin pull here, too. Special Buy Star. Drink by 2032

Cabernet for this delicious and richly flavoured red is sourced from all around the Barossa. The wine spends a year and a half maturing in a mix of older and new French barrels.
The colour here is an opaque maroon. The nose gives us chocolate notes but also a strong dried herbs as a basis.

We have tobacco leaves, aniseed and black olives as well. Good intensity, this is a wine of medium length with a line of fine acidity. Quite fine tannins are on display here. This is a wine for enjoying over the next four to eight years.

This has a marked note of plums with hints of bell peppers and earth. The palate is round with sweet dark fruit, crushed stones, juicy tannins and a fruit-forward finish. Drink now. Screw cap.

A thick and rich cabernet loaded with masses of dark black fruits, dark chocolate and a generous vanilla bean character. The palate is a medium weight but with plenty of concentrated depth. Rich and flavoursome with a sustained finish.
