Tasting Notes

Delightful pale pink in colour, this dry rosé takes its inspiration from the Provençale rosés of Southern France where subtle fruit flavours and mouth-watering refreshing acidity are sought to complement the local cuisine. A truly elegant wine.

Winemaking

The Château Old Vine Grenache Rosé is made from grapes grown by the Hamilton family in their Fuller’s vineyard which was planted more than 100 years ago on the sandy loam over deep limestone soils of the Barossa’s Penrice sub-region.

After just twelve hours’ skin contact, the free-run juice was fermented at low temperature for three weeks in old French oak hogsheads resulting in a complex wine of depth and texture without any oak character or flavour.

38/28/27/7%, each component made and matured separately in an assemblage of various oaks for 19 months before blending and bottling. Clever winemaking has produced the maximum result, with a suite of predominantly red fruits on a palate notable for its freshness and drinkability. Great value. May 2016
