The Revival of Château Tanunda

The Geber family has a 20 year vision for the restoration of the Château which will include the development of upmarket boutique accommodation.

The
Barossa Ranges Terrace
was created by landscape architect Brenton Hann, who has been the creative genius behind reviving the soul of Château Tanunda and making it one of the most accessible and versatile venues in the country. This striking outdoor area, which was once a cement dominated tank farm, now incorporates historic cobblestones, hand cut Mintaro slate and hardwood decking.

Planted with a variety of citrus trees and bordered with potted olive trees, the terrace offers magnificent views over the croquet green to the Barossa Ranges.  This area is perfect for any function requiring a spectacular setting, whether corporate or private.

In December 2004 a state of the art Basket Press Winery was installed to make ultra premium wines with a maximum output of 12 000 cases depending on the vintage.

The festival cricket oval overlooking the vineyards and Barossa Ranges is one of the most spectacular grounds in the world. Yet it is serious with 3 world class test strips and has played host to numerous ex-international cricketers in masters games.

These developments complement the existing facilities offered by the Château with the majestic Long Room, the impressive Grand Ballroom and the wonderfully ambient Cellar Doorarea housed amongst hundreds of barrels of maturing wine
